Build Belt and Road Brands through Maritime Silk Road Int'l Expo
The 2019 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo (hereinafter referred to as MSRE) will be held in Guangzhou from August 23-26 this year. The expo will be integrated with the 27th Guangzhou expo. The "Belt And Road" area will be set up to display the overall image of countries along the route, exhibiting manufacturing products, high-tech industrial products, cultural tourism, characteristic handicrafts, etc.
To further enhance exchange and collaboration of trade and talents between China and Israel, Li Xiaoming, director of Guangzhou Bureau of Commerce, visited CIE and invited the latter to organize high-quality Israeli companies to participate in MSRE.
Israel is located at the junction of Asia, Africa and Europe. Its location is very important and can be well integrated with the "One Belt And One Road" initiative. It is one of the most important countries along the "One Belt And One Road" route. In ancient times Israel was the crossroads of the world. People travel from Africa to Asia, from Europe to Egypt, from the Middle East to Mesopotamia, all through Israel. Now, Israel is a globally recognized innovative country, not only more than 6000 technology start-ups have sprung up, but also Its NASDAQ-listed companies have outnumbered Europe. Its science and technology industry contributes more than 90% of its GDP. Relying on its accumulation in genetics, computer science, chemistry and other fields, as many as ten of Israeli have people won the Nobel Prize.
Guangzhou is the starting point of the ancient maritime silk road, the oldest and only foreign treaty port in China that has never been closed, and is known as the "capital of commerce for thousands of years".There are 86 universities and colleges in Guangzhou, with more than 1 million college students and more than 150 scientific research institutions. The atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship is very active here.
With the help of the expo, the two sides can carry out closer cooperation in innovation, technology and cultural tourism, and share the benefits brought by the Belts and Roads initiative.
Established in 2014, Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo (hereinafter referred to as MSRE) aims at forging an international image for Guangdong that the province has been implementing the Belt and Road Initiative elaborately and making itself the best place for doing business and seeking cooperation. With 5 years’ growth, MSRE has gradually developed into an exhibition platform with higher influences in the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, which is increasingly speeding up its marching pace to internationalization, branding and marketization and enlarging its international circle of friends and influential power. From 2019 on, MSRE will be moved from Dongguan to Guangzhou.
